Description: Bottle is in great condition. No chips or cracks. A couple small cloudy spots or stains on the glass. Beautiful aqua blue color! There are two paper labels on it both showing age (but undated - they just look very old to my non-expert eyes). If you look closely, you can see that the second label is partly covering the original label and both say "fosfato de calcio," i.e., calcium phosphate. I rinsed the bottle out when I got it in the 90s and a few times since (with just water) so I don't think there's any chemical residue but even if there were cal. ph. is not a dangerous chemical. But my guess is that there has been nothing in this bottle for many many years. The labels give the name of a pharmacy - Alcazar, located on a street of the same name. I looked on google maps and I don't think No. 854 is there anymore, or I was looking in the wrong place (I believe this is an address in Lima, Peru, as they have a street of that name and also, my brother bought this in an antique shop in Lima in the 90s). I'm open to offers but I'm also only listing it because I have nowhere to display it and so it's been wrapped up in a box in a closet and I thought maybe someone would want it now and if I can sell it and make enough to buy things I need, that makes sense - but if not, eventually, I'll live somewhere with more space and still have it. So, I'm open but not especially in a rush to sell) Measurements (all approximate): 1 3/4" (mouth) 3 7/8" (diameter of bottom) 9" (height) 1 lb., 15 ozs (weight) N.b., I included some photos without a flash because the blue color to the glass is gorgeous - it's why my brother bought it and why I love it but it's also hard to describe and even harder to capture in a photo. So, hopefully between the bright, flash-photos and the unlit ones you maybe can get some idea of what I mean by "aqua" which is a very subjective word since it just means "water" and water, in terms of seas and oceans, can be a LOT of different colors! But I think most people maybe possibly imagine "aqua" as something like this color Also, if you look very closely you can see the other thing I love about this bottle - the glass is not completely clear like modern glass. I think it's old enough that it is kind of wavy like old American windows, if you have seen those, but this is a much more compact waviness, like a honeycomb sort of, like the color hard to describe but to me, stunning. I also included a couple picks of the bottle packed up - you can see it's wrapped in bubble wrap that is about 8" across, so twice as big as the bottle itself. That giant bubble wrapped bottle is then surrounded by as many "air pillows" or "air cushions" as I could fit so that absent severe negligence by the carrier, it should arrive intact. It will be insured - and in the unlikely event of damage, you can't ship glass shards so that only the buyer could make an insurance claim. But of the hundreds of fragile items I've shipped across the country in the past 25+ years, I've only had 3 that were damaged. I hope saying this does not jinx things but while most buyers here are super kind and reasonable, I always want people to understand what I am selling - and what to do in the unlikely event of a problem, i.e., file a claim with USPS, which usually can be done entirely online although they can make you bring the broken item to your local PO). Any questions please ask and thanks so much for looking!
