Description: Offered is an original World War One era production United States military issue Model 1907 leather sling made for use with the 1903 Springfield or Model 1917 rifles. This will also fit an M1 Garand (the M1907 was used extensively with the Garand during World War Two) and was used on Trench Shotguns as well. This sling is maker marked Smith Worthington Co. Makers, a very seldom encountered maker in my experience. It is dated 1917. This sling has the brass claws, as is correct for World War One era M1907s. It is full length and has never been modified, cleaned, polished, or repaired. The claw rivets are tight. The original sewn keeper is present. These original slings have become difficult to find, as the repros and fakes greatly outnumber the originals. It is offered exactly as pictured in very nice original condition and shows normal wear and checking. It has one small tear (as pictured…it is eight holes back from the end tab) that will not affect mounting or display. Overall, a very scarce and desirable maker marked—from a hard to find maker— and dated World War One sling that will display well on your rifle.
