Description: Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Eico 232 or 249 VTVM. At this point these are at least 40-70 years old, and the old parts are weak and failing, with leaky capacitors. We will make them new again! This kit includes replacement film and electrolytic capacitors. It also includes instructions to explain how to install everything. This does not include any tubes or resistors. New caps are four Supertech MPT film capacitors and one Supertech axial electrolytic capacitor--you will get the exact parts shown in the picture. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts--these are the same parts I use when I rebuild test gear. The parts included are modern equivalents of the original parts, with the same uf values and improved voltage ratings. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding tube gear is somewhat complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron. This kit will not fix everything that could be wrong with your equipment, but it will certainly help. The Eico 232 and 249 use a 1.5v battery, which generally needs replacing. It is possible to replace this with a small "battery eliminator" circuit that works off the AC voltage. This is not part of the kit, and I don't have these available, but if you search eBay for VTVM battery eliminator you can buy one from another seller.
