Placement Because these plants cannot tolerate direct sunlight, place them in a north or east facing window. If you're going to leave them outside, put them in a shaded spot where they'll get indirect light. Because they are tropical, they require consistent amounts of humidity, therefore a water tray beneath them helps to preserve the moisture in the air. Avoid placing them near air conditioners or heaters, since this might cause them to dry out.
