Description: ** Package of 14 Spider/Surprise Lily Bulbs. Each bulb produces a red bloom resembling a spider. Also known as the Surprise Lily. These plants have grown around our yard for over 40 years. They are hardy and require very little maintenance. Spider lilies bloom in late summer to early fall. Each bulb produces one single flower on a bare stem. Once the bloom fades the green foliage at the base of the stem will remain until about late spring to early summer. I live in zone 8b with mild winters and very hot sometimes dry summers. I have grown these plants in the ground and in containers. This was one of my late mother's favorite plants. Seeing them reminds me of her. I hope they bring generations of beauty and joy to your family as they have to my family. As with many of the plants in my shop, this plant has grown in natural outdoor conditions, South Carolina zone 8, and has thrived for years with no maintenance or care. Only requires cleanup due to spring/summer dieback of foliage to prepare for new growth. It is a winner for anyone seeking to establish a low-maintenance garden. This is another easy-to-grow perennial that will bring years of beauty and southern charm to any garden for generations to come!
