Specifically designed for convenience, it features a standard 1/8" MPT connection for easy threading into rigid 1/2" or larger PVC pipelines. This valve excels as a reliable water solution for larger rodents like rabbits, rats, ferrets, and chinchillas, offering both durability and practicality in one streamlined design that provides super easy activation. *** FUNCTIONALITY ***In the mechanics of this design, animals can quench their thirst by either biting or licking the stainless steel stem, initiating the water release. Once the animal disengages from the stem, the silicone rubber diaphragm, situated just behind the stem head, springs into action. Its inherent elasticity propels the head back to a sealed position, effectively halting the water flow until the next drinking cycle. These use low pressure water nipples/lixits, and so water pressure should be kept under approximately 8 PSI. The flow rate of water from the valve can be adjusted by twisting the valve cap clockwise to decrease flow or counter-clockwise to increase the flow rate. *** CONDITION *** These are refurbished drinking nipples/water valves. They are functional and have been cleaned and thoroughly disinfected.
