Description: THIS IS AN OLD ROBINSON RANSBOTTOM USA BLUE CROWN STONEWARE CROCK 2 GALLON WITH A LIGHT BEIGE EXTERIOR AND DARK BROWN INTERIOR. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SALT GLAZED CROCK IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. Marked USA on the bottoms. NO CRACKS OR CHIPS THAT I CAN SEE. This could use a light cleaning. There are some small dark spots near the lip area as shown in the photos…they may wash off or maybe it occurred when they applied the brown interior glaze. There is a little spot of tape residue on the back that will need washed off. This would make a beautiful farmhouse style home decor piece, great planter or could be used for its intended purpose for making pickles or sauerkraut. IT IS REALLY HEAVY AND IS APPROXIMATELY 9 1/2" WIDE BY 9.25" TALL. Robinson Ransbottom Pottery was a popular stoneware company that operated from the early 20th century to the early 2000s. They were known for producing a wide range of blue cobalt designed stoneware, including tableware, artworks, churns, and crocks. The company was established in 1900 in Roseville, Ohio by Frank Ransbottom and later merged with Robinson Clay Products Co. in 1920, becoming Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Co.
