JD-990 was already well known as Roland's best digital synth, much more powerful than its sibking JD-800 etc. Never gigged, never left home studio environment, minimum usage. bright display with good contrast. Excellent condition overall, pretty clean, fully functional. Carefully packaged, will be shipped from California. Local pickup is welcome. **No expansion board is included**. History Short verdion: Got a wonderful synth but couldn't use it much. Longer version (rants): My musical buddy (original owner) too was ambitious but was hitting the wall due to work, family etc. He finally threw in his musical towel and began selling his synths. It was then when I grabbed this JD-990. It's not like I tried all the great synthesizers but JD-990 has some special magic indeed IMO. I'd describe its sound gorgeous and pleasant. Sound design of presets is top notch. But same fate for our JD-990 - I am no keyboardist and too busy.
