The cup is decorated with 8 oval enamel icons and a very beautiful, masterfully made filigree. The cup stim is decorated with 4 gilded biblical scenes. The stand and base are decorated with pale blue enamel. The base is decorated with 4 different elliptical enamel icons of the Virgin Mary and a beautiful, very fine filigree. Between the icons of the stand are placed 4 light blue round enameled details, and on each of them is placed a monogram of the Russian Emperor Alexander III. On the edge of the chalice there is an openwork gilded inscription in Old Slavonic. The Crurch Chalice comes from a large private collection and come from the ex USSR. Very little ecclesiastical items survived the various political upheavals of the twentieth century, as much of it was confiscated and destroyed by the communistic power.
