Description: THIS IS MY OWN EBAY SITE! MY HUSBAND MIKE'S EBAY STORE IS KNOWN AS "JUNKDEAL" AND HE HAS OVER 2200 POSITIVE FEEDBACK RATINGS! WE WILL BE SURE YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS!!! Here is a moonshine jug from Mike's antique collection! It is a Western Stoneware product. The earliest use of the maple-leaf logo WITHOUT the Monmouth name in the logo was after the merger in 1906. The last use of this logo was in 1930. Mike believes this is an earlier version since they improved their quality as time went on, and this one is somewhat lacking in great quality control! It has a mark on the top of the handle that Mike says is most likely a maker's defect. The salt glaze is present on this spot, so it is not a chip.......This jug DOES have a crack partly up one side that branches like a lightning bolt, and partly across the bottom. it is NOT loose, movable, or missing any material at all. It is hard to see in the pictures, and it is not ever going to drop a piece out unless you slam it or drop it! It has NO chips out of it anywhere, and the crack and the defect in the handle is the only thing that keeps it from being perfect! Overall, a very nice jug!!! Dee (and Mike!)
