Description: DESCRIPTIONHello, and welcome to Murkwood Carnivorous Plants, a registered Washington nursery!This listing is for a pack of 25 genuine seeds from the following Sarracenia hybrid cross: Purpurea Venosa 'Montana' Karen Oudean clone x Hurricane Creek White Clone F Carnivorous Plant Seeds (SEEDS ONLY, PLANTS NOT INCLUDED!)About the parent plants: Purpurea Venosa 'Montana' Karen Oudean Clone (pod parent): This plant was Willow Creek Nursery's favorite montana clone of choice out of the clones they had due to its larger size, color and overall vigor, although it does not have location data. When used in breeding efforts, this clone can produce sturdy, heavy wide-veined and ruffled-lid hybrids.Hurricane Creek White Clone F (pollen parent): The arguably whitest and most shapely of the Hurricane Creek White Clones, and therefore the most sought after. It grows tall robust traps, with a slightly short ruffled lid. Environmental conditions often create a bit of a pink or red blush on pitchers, especially when just opening. Breeding efforts with the plant usually produce nice pinks and whites in hybrids.The seeds: The seeds were made by crossing the above described clones, in order to produce some beautiful, mid-height green and wide veined, hopefully some white-topped, ruffled-lid hybrids, possibly with some pink or red blushing. Offspring should also be reasonably cold hardy due to the purpurea 'Montana' influence. These should be exciting and beautiful!Pollination methods: My pollination regimen includes bagging the flowers with fine mesh as soon as they open and keeping them bagged well after the petals drop. This is viable, ripe seed from my 2023 harvest from my nursery.The packs of seeds are stored dry in a refrigerated environment for freshnessI only was able to pollinate one pod, and was lucky this year for both plants to bloom simultaneously, which due to their locality differences, usually doesn't happen.
