Description: Up for a sale is a beautiful 303XXX Selmer Mark VII Alto Saxophone with the original neck! The horn is in great playing condition after a COA and a few new pads. When I brought it in, my tech was surprised to see some original pads still on it, which you can see from the colored band of lacquer on the outside of them! There's also a fair amount of the original green felts still on it. The horn itself sings, and the pads still seal up to make a satisfying pop when you finger a low Bb. It's absolutely playable as-is, and I've used it for a number of jazz and classical outings. That being said, some additional pad changes will be required throughout the next part of this horn's life and it will have to be overhauled at some point down far the line. The horn's lacquer is in good condition, but has some discoloration throughout parts of the body. There are a few cosmetic scratches on the front of the bell, which can be seen in the photo. It comes in a brand new Protec MAX contoured case--It's nice and light with enough room for the essentials as you run to class or gigs, and already has backpack straps to make it easy to get around with. This is the horn that finally pulled me away from a decade of only playing modern instruments, right as I thought my Yanagisawa A-WO10 was the last alto I'd touch for a while. Ignore the reputation of Mark VII's and try it out! //For sale in San Francisco! If you'd like to meet and try the horn, I'd be happy to arrange a meetup in a safe public area nearby.
