[SERVICED] WORKING 1936 Royal model “O” Flat Top typewriter w/ case + new ribbon

Description: This is a serviced, WORKING Royal model “O” portable manual typewriter from 1936, making it 88 years old. Every key types extremely smoothly. Shifting is very smooth with NO BINDING, which can happen to old machines that haven’t been properly serviced. Ribbon color selector has been properly aligned so that there is no cutting off of words from one color to another. If the ribbon lifting mechanism is not properly positioned you will get characters with their tops cut off and/or bleeding into your secondary ribbon color. Typewriter and case have minimal wear for their age (see photos). Please note that this typewriter features its original GLASS keys, none of which are cracked or chipped. Each one has been fully cleaned. Touch control, return mechanism, margins, etc. are all working smoothly. Portions of the machine have been disassembled, serviced and rebuilt to really turn this typewriter into a users machine, right out of the case. Each body panel has been removed, cleaned and polished to bring the paint back to its original deep black gloss (see photos). Each type slug has been fully cleaned to ensure clear printing on your paper (see photos for type test). A brand new two color ink ribbon has also been installed, and respooled onto the original metal ribbon spools. Generally I like to use the original metal spools instead of the plastic ones that new ribbon come on because I like the history and the look of them, and with a typewriter model as beautiful as this one we like to keep everything original. We have been working on typewriters for years, and Royal’s model “O” remains one of my favorite designs they ever made, this one being particularly nice after the servicing process. In my opinion it’s one of the best looking portable typewriters ever produced. I keep one in my personal collection and usually keep it displayed on my desk where it can easily been seen - it’s certainly an eye catching piece to have in your home. Comes from a smoke free home. This typewriters serial number is: O-548520 ~~~~~ For those interested in a little bit more of the history behind this model: The Royal model “O” was produced from 1935 - 1939. The serial number on this one dates it to 1936. They were produced in many different color/texture variations, but the classic deep glossy black was the most popular. All models came with a Touch-Control mechanism and a glass-top keyboard with "Finger Comfort Keys." These typewriters were produced in Hartford, Connecticut until 1939 when Royal's portables were once again redesigned.
