Making its debut during the reign of Queen Victoria, Buttercup sterling silverware by Gorham is an excellent example of the Greco-Roman applied art popular during the period. Produced from 1899 to around 1950, the charming Buttercup flatware design features an intricate design of buttercups, scrolls, and leaves. This solid sterling set of forks features a fanciful handle covered in ornate flower and scroll detail. The handles feature miscellaneous monograms. Each fork is marked on the back with Gorham's makers' marks (a lion, anchor, and letter G), along with the words "Sterling". Set presents well and is in very good antique condition, with minor wear/scuffing, tarnish and patina commensurate with age and light use. One fork's outer tine is slightly bent and has a stable hairline fracture. Please review all photos.
