Description: Exquisite Set of 6 Antique Hand-Painted Dessert Plates 1900-1920 Hermann Ohme Silesia, Germany A beautiful set of six antique hand-painted dessert plates made by the Hermann Ohme porcelain factory in Silesia, Germany. Due to the abundant supply of natural resources and railway access, what was then Silesia was the center of the porcelain industry until the end of the 19th century. These were produced by the Hermann Ohme factory between 1900 and 1920 based upon the mark in the back of each plate. The artistry on the plates is lovely with pansies, sweet peas, morning glories, violets and two types of roses. Each plate has a 1/4 inch gold rim and is 6 inches in diameter--a perfect size for a beautiful dessert or breakfast sweet. They are each marked with the marking used by Hermann Ohme between 1900-1920. The sweet pea plate has an additional marking of "Neth." which may indicate the particular artist. (Please see photos.) They are all in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. There is very little wear to the gold rims. The plate with the yellow and red roses and the plate with the morning glories have a flake on the underside base rim the plate sits on, but the one on the morning glory, especially, looks like it's under the glaze so it's original to the production process. (Please see photos.) A lovely set of plates for your antique porcelain collection or to use on your Spring holiday table. So much more fun to have different flowers on each plate in the set.
