Description: This exceptional antique reproduction Sharaku print shows the kabuki actors Ichikawa Omezō I as Tomita Hyōtarō and Ōtani Oniji III as Kawashima Jibugorō. The original print was made in 1794 and is from his second period. Only eight original copy of this print is known to exist. This high quality reproduction print is in very good condition and is presented in a decorative sleeve with an information sheet in Japanese. The print was published by Yuyudo Publishers in the 1960s, who excelled in reproducing classic prints using the original techniques with hand carved wood blocks. The print uses vivid colours and high quality paper and has a lovely bleed-through as shown.
