Description: Sony Alpha 18-135mm DT SAM f/3.5-5.6Standard Telephoto Zoom Lens APS-C Sized Lens for Alpha Mount Near Mint Condition This SAL18135 is another option as a nice upgrade to the kit 18-55mm SAM. It has ED (extra low dispersion) and aspherical glass elements inside for improved image quality as well as compact size, distance encoding and internal focus. Minimum focus distance is just 17” (45 cm) and a circular aperture renders a better bokeh in out of focus areas. This is a Sony Alpha mount lens and will require an adapter for use on Sony E mount camera bodies. This particular lens is in near mint condition. (S/N 18521xx) This lens is in nice cosmetic with just a bit of barrel wear on the leading edge of the lens. The front glass has a few very tiny coating marks but these will not affect image quality in any way. Mechanically, the aperture is clean and snappy. The zoom and focus move smoothly and the zoom has a nice deliberate resistance as a new lens should have. The grips are clean and look new. The mount is unmarked as well. Both caps and hood are included with the lens. You get extended zoom range to 135mm without losing your wide end at 18mm, smooth autofocus (SAM) and improved image quality all in one nice package. On Sony.com, this lens lists new for $500. Here on eBay, in near new condition, for less than quarter that price. It makes a great alternative to the DT 16-50/2.8 as it is smaller and has an extended focal range, with the tradeoff being a smaller maximum aperture. The standard zoom is the primary lens for most photographers and 70-90% of all image captures will be with the standard zoom. If you are going to upgrade one lens in your kit, it makes sense to put the money where it will make the biggest impact in the image quality of your shooting and this lens will do that perfectly.
