Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Souvenir "pan" from the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition at San Francisco. Shows the Machinery Hall at the Expo, one of the more popular designs apparently as I see quite a few. One of a set of 12 different designs produced by the Pan-Pacific Souvenir Company of the City. These were officially licensed by the Exposition Company itself and sold on-site. This example retains the small round sticker on the back listing the designs available, which I have found to be scarce. Some minor marks and scuffing to the finish. All were antiqued to some degree by applying a chemical finish, and vary from bright to darker depending upon the applied finish; this example is brighter Copper than many. The concept for these was borrowed from similar "frying pan" souvenirs produced for the 1901 Pan-American Expo at Buffalo, a natural concept originating from the word "pan" in the event name. Most were made by Whitehead & Hoag, their name being visible on on the Reverse at the top of the "neck", however this example does not show this so possible a "second run" by a different maker.
