Description: Soviet 1985 Badge in Commemoration of the Start of the Construction of the 1000th Russian Submarine, the K-117 Bryansk, Ballistic Missile “Boomer” sub of the Delfin (“Dolphin”) Class (aka Delta-IV). This is GUARANTEED ORIGINAL Soviet badge from the 80s, not a later reissue or a replica! A nice quality badge in brass and high quality “hot-baked” enamels. Measures 16.3 mm tall x 41.9 mm wide. The submarine is a separate part superimposed on the enameled Soviet naval flag. The numeral “1000” signifies the 1000th submarine ever built at a Russian shipyard (including those completed during WW1 and WW2). The badge is in excellent condition. The enamel and details are perfect. There is a minimal amount of tarnish to the brass, not detractive. The badge has fully functional screw back attachment with original screw plate. The K-117 Bryansk is a nuclear submarine of the Soviet Project 667 of the Delfin-Class Ballistic Missile Subs (NATO designation Delta-IV). It was laid down in 1985 at the Severomorsk Shipyard. Initially, its name was supposed to be “The 70th Anniversary of the October” but that soon changed to Bryansk, obviously due to the changing political winds. It was launched in 1987, incidentally the 1000th submarine ever built at Russian shipyards, and was commissioned during the same year. As far as we know, the Bryansk remains on active duty in the Russian Navy to this day. FREE SHIPPING (USPS 1st cl. Mail) WITHIN USA ONLY! We WILL NOT ship our eBay items outside USA.
