Description: Remember Sperti sun lamps? Me either, but they were a “hot” item in the 1950’s. Women who wanted tans had Sperti sun lamps & shades to protect the eyes, and also loved this little mechanical timer. The electric cord & plug-in were used as an adapter to turn off the lamp when the timer went off. My electrician hubby tested it & it works. Sadly, we threw the sun lamp away 30 years ago. Now the large ones are worth $500. Wha-waa. Sperti started his business in 1933, Michigan. It was bought out several times, so the Hoboken, N. J. dates it to 1950 to 1958 when the company was bought & moved to NJ. Amazingly, this company is still going strong today in Las Vegas. There is not a match of this sweet Sperti accessory anywhere in my research, so safe-to-say it’s rare. Measurements: Box unit: 3”L x 2”W x 1 3/4”D The cord is 2 1/2’ long 8:72 omg v/2
