Description: A fabulous find for the dog lover, or terrier lover – lovely little enamel pill box hand-painted with adorable Jack Russel, Wheaton and Silky terriers on the lid. The base is a rich royal blue and the lid is trimmed with 24K gold plate with a simple push opening. The inside of the lid has a Cairn terrier, all in fabulous hand-painted detail, and the inside is pristine white. Bottom of pill box is stamped Staffordshire Enamels, Made in England and then signed by the artist. Very good condition. These boxes are all hand made as they have been for over 100 years; made from a thin piece of shaped copper, it is then applied with enamel that is applied and fired numerous times; a ceramic lithograph of the artwork is created then applied to the enamel surface and 100% hand painted by a single artist. Measures 2 inches round by ¾ inches tall.
