Description: STAR BLAZERS SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO KIT YAMATO MINI-KIT #1 VINTAGE BANDAI JAPAN - NEW IN BOX! This is a model kit to build the Yamato space battleship from the Japanese animation (anime) series Yamato, also known as Star Blazers (American title). It is kit # 0536041-100. The iconic Yamato soars proudly through space bearing her blue-and-red paint job, looking exactly like a battleship that has bathed in cavorite and has a big cannon hole in its prow! This was part of a series of 30 mini-kits from the Yamato series; this is Kit # 1. This kit was manufactured in Japan by Bandai, and all exterior text is in Japanese, except for a blue box on the cover with the letters ST in it, and the words "Space Cruiser Yamato" written in blue text on the short sides of the lid. There is a small gold-and-blue sticker on the front with some Japanese characters on it. The side of the box shows Kits 1 - 10 in the series (one ship, two ship, green ships, blue ships! And the Yamato too!). Can't find a copyright year on here though; I believe this was made in the 1980's though. Assembly instructions are all in Japanese and printed on the INSIDE of the box lid - so don't throw that lid away, mmmmkay? Also can't find the exact scale written anywhere on this kit, sorry! The inside holds the parts on two sheets of sprue in a sealed plastic bag, along with a little packet of glue that may or may not be viable. Parts are all pale grey so some paint will be required. Box measures 6 by 3.25 by 1.3 inches. The hull sections measure about 5 inches long. The box shows some minor rubbing at the edges and sides. BONUS: Genuine vintage dust, possibly from outer space!
