Wear includes soiling, fading corner bumps, corner and edge wear, and staining to covers and the spine. There is some fabric fraying and loss on the top and bottom spine areas. There is staining, toning, and foxing on the pages throughout the book—foxing and staining to the top, fore, and bottom edges. The beginning front and back endsheets have beautiful illustrations. Approximately an inch tear begins at the bottom upwards on the first endsheet. The back endsheet has two areas of paint loss on the joint. There are two joint cracks between pages 144-45 and 208-09.
