The well preserved original tablet was incised in moist clay, then fired or left to harden in the sun. This edition is made of a strong limestone and quartzite composition stone and has an aged earthy patina. The writing appears on both sides of this well formed rectangular tablet with distinctive gaps left by the ancient scribes to separate the text. Unfortunately I don't know what the translation for this piece is but it is an authentic text awaiting decipherment. Protection prayers, dockets of transactions or commemorations of any sort were written on these tablets. Whatever they say, they are a direct link to the ancient minds who conceived one of the earliest forms of writing in the world. *As each item is handmade, slight colour variations may occur.
