Description: For sale a gently used Synology DiskStation DS1821+ SAN/NAS Storage System in black in the original packaging. This unit has all drive caddies in excellent condition. The unit was installed in a temperature-controlled datacenter rack where it received regulated and conditioned power. The unit was rarely used as a backup to another backup server and was only sporadically powered on over it's lifetime (only if the primary backup server had an issue, which was very rare). As stated this is a very gently used unit. Unit was powered on again to assure everything was working perfectly before drives were removed for shipping. Easily found as they are standard HDD screws and frequently come with new HDD anyway.There is some slight discoloration on the top of the unit in the form of very light squiggles. As stated, this unit was in datacenter style rack, and I can only think that cables from the bay laid on it and over time a slight discoloration happened. They are very slight but are noticeable if you look at just the right angle. See photos.There is a very tiny paint chip on the back top edge of the unit. It is about 1/16th of an inch or smaller and is not visible unless you are looking for it.The CAT6 ethernet cord I do not believe is the original cord provided when the system was new. Additionally, there may have been a second cable provided. These were likely discarded immediately in preference for CAT6 certified cables. Additionally, as noted there is only one CAT6 cable in the box (see photo).The provided power cord is also not likely the original power cord but will work most excellently with this unit.(See Photos)
