Description: This lens is a copy of the telephoto Zeiss Sonnar optical formula popular for adaption onto mirrorless digital cameras to produce cinema and still work with some character. These USSR lenses are well known for rehoused copies being used in the production of Dune 2. This is a very early 000 serial number copy of the Tair 11 lens from the KMZ plant. It is marked with the red P that indicates it is multicoated. The glass has a few light scratches on the lens surfaces that face the aperture assembly. There is some light dust present inside. Otherwise the glass is free from oil, haze or fungus. The aperture blades are free from oil. The lens barrel has lost its shine from age, but the focus and preset aperture rings move easily. The ring that closes and opens the 20-bladed aperture is not particularly well damped. This early version of the lens is M39 mount and requires an M39-M42 adapter to allow attachment to M42 cameras and adapters. The lens comes with metal front and rear lens caps.
