Description: Purchased this project about 3 years ago and finally got around to checking, cleaning, minor repairs, and the working blue tinted lamps changed to LED's. They are easy to change so the owner might want to change the 4 LED's to a different shade. They push in and twist in place. The main problem I found was dirty switches. They are a royal pain to do successfully on the SA-x00 series receivers. All cleaned and functioning as they should now after about 2-3 hours of disassembly work. I also cleaned the variable capacitor (tuner). As you can see, I had 1 toggle switch cap missing for the power switch. The part number for these is SBD7. Only available as used, the same switch cap is used on several of Technic's receivers. However, none were available presently on Ebay so I am leaving that for the new owner to handle. They just slide on the shaft. The switch operates fine, just needs a cap. I also noticed 1 of the smaller capacitors had a split covering on the side of it. So even though there were no issues showing up, I changed that 1 cap to new. In the photo of the top opened, there are 2 of the original caps right next to the side of the transformer, down under the wires. In between those 2 capacitors, you will see a much smaller capacitor. This is the replacement. It has same specs as the old one, and a 105 C temp rating. Higher than the originals, which is a good thing. Phono section tested fine. Aux selection has no issues. Tuner works well, and the dial for FM is spot on station. The photo of the front of the unit shows my Little Rock classic rock channel 94.1 being received in stereo. Played the SA-700 for about 2 hours at various volumes. No problems found. No warranty. Technics jumped into the power wars of the seventies to put out more watts. It started with 100WPC here. Technics top receiver in this line back in late seventies was the SA-1000 capable of 300WPC! Shipping notes: Shipping to lower 48 states only.
