Description: Mortoniceras species ammonite, 4.5" diameter, found in a creek in Tarrant County Texas. These mortoniceras ammonites come from the Fort Worth formation. I PERSONALLY DISCOVERED EVERY AMMONITE I SELL UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED. I will NOT share exact location, but for the sake of provenance I can share that this was discovered in a creek along the Johnson/Tarrant County lines west of the Chisolm Trail toll road.No repairs have occurred with this ammonite despite superficial appearance of cracks. Only one side is good and presentable, but I am including the naturally damaged (due to impact of creek water and erosion) side for free.Sliced and polished by Mercer M Brugler of The Fossil Factory.STAND NOT INCLUDED. WEIGHT: 14.9 oz.(both sides combined)WIDTH: 4.5" diameter.Estimated age 90-100 million years old (upper cretaceous)No one has owned this ammonite previously, it was discovered in 2023 and prepared in January 2024.Visit us at DFWFOSSILS.COM (under development).
