Description: This is a 3W wargame, The Battle of the Alma. It is a grand tactical simulation on the first major battle of the Crimean War in 1854. The game uses a chit-draw mechanic with focus on leadership. This is a very solitaire friendly game. The game is unpunched, in like new condition. The box is in great shape. Historically, the Battle of the Alma was the first and only time that the forces of the major powers (England, France, and Russia) actually faced each other in a set-piece battle. The unlikely anti-Russian coalition of Britain, France, Turkey, and Sardinia had chosen the Crimean port of Evpatoria for a landing. After several days spent organizing and arguing on a plan of action, the main Allied force of British, French, and Turkish troops began the march towards the Russian naval base at Sevastopol. General Prince Menshikov's Russian army met them on the banks of the Alma River for the first major battle of the Crimean War on September 20, 1854. There are 3 scenarios, one is for the French (and Turkish) attack, a 2nd one is for the British attack, and lastly, the entire Alma Campaign.Contents:Rulebook2 Countersheets of 300 unpunched, die-cut countersTwo 22" x 34" Maps2 Record Sheets (Allied and Russian)2 Command Tracks (Allied and Russian)1 Terrain Chart/Table10-sided die Please email me for any questions.
