This is a first edition thus of the Crown Edition of The Oxford Trollope published by the Oxford University Press in 1952. This is a two volume set complete and in excellent condition. Both bindings are square and tight and immaculate throughout. The Oxford blood red cloth boards on both volumes are spotless and the gold gilt lettering is bright and beautiful as shown. Volume two has a “pull” to the cloth on the lower front board as shown on the last photo. The two dust jackets have been price clipped. And show light wear along the edges and spine ends. Both jackets come in Mylar protectors which can easily be removed should you wish to. The illustrations are done by Hector Whistler and are quite nice themselves. These copies are in truly great condition and will make wonderful additions to any collections or libraries. I don’t believe that the Oxford Press has ever issued book club editions however both copies have these “stamps” on the lower rear boards which from the Oxford Press I’ve not come across before.
