Francis James Mortimer 1874-1944 FRPS, FRSA, CBE was a British photographer and editor and extremely influential both in the UK and worldwide in the art and science of photography.Born in Portsmouth, Hampshire he became interested in photography by the age of 20 going on to win many medals for his work. He became a member of the Royal Photographic Society in 1904 eventually becoming its president. He was elected to the art photography society the Linked Ring in 1907 and was editor of the Amateur Photographer magazine in 1908.FJ Mortimer edited the annual appraisal of pictorial photography Photograms of the year from 1912 until his death in 1944. Delivered in an acid free archival sleeve and hard backed envelope. Happy to combine postage.
