Description: Maker: On the reverse of this classically elegant salad plate is backstamp number 34 of Theodore Haviland, one of the great Limoges firms at the turn of the last century; this mark was in use between 1904 and around 1925. Source: third edition of the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston. Design: The pattern - called H79 - is a traditional design of a gold embossed band on pure white fine quality porcelain. Haviland pattern identification disclaimer: Haviland produced between 30,000 and 60,000 china patterns, many with only slight variations, and the identification of this item's pattern is not guaranteed. If you are trying to match a Haviland pattern, please check all the photos in this listing very carefully against your own items to be sure this is the right pattern for you. Condition: The plate is in overall excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, repairs or crazing. The rim on the back has darkened a bit and shows some wear - that's shown in the photos. Size: The plate is 7 1/2 inches wide and weighs 8.1 ounces. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
