Description: Estate Find Tiernay Metals 6061 Aluminum Extrusion Sample We offer from the estate of American architect Harry (Hal) Jonas, a 6061 aluminum extrusion sample made by Tiernay Metals for Lockheed Aircraft. A descriptive note is attached to base written in architect's hand. The extrusion sample measures 3" in height, 7" in width and 4" in depth. Provenance Harry (Hal) Jonas (1932-2020) served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War leaving the service with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Hal attended Lawrence Technological University while working with Minoru Yamasaki Associates of Troy, Michigan at the same time Minoru Yamasaki's most famous project, the World Trade Center in New York City, was under construction. He became a registered architect in 1970 and practiced in Michigan, Colorado and California until his retirement in 1999. In his later years, Hal became a noted artist and teacher who shared his knowledge with many students.
