Description: LONG WAVE and SHORT WAVE UV Interesting small specimen of clear Topaz and green Fluorite. The Fluorite fluoresces the typical blue color under both LW and SW and the Topaz a dim yellow under SW UV light. The reasoning for the Topaz UV response is not certain but could be micro inclusions of Apatite which is a common associate mineral from this locale. Please note that this is a small 3 gram specimen measuring roughly 1/2", also note that a good LW and SW light sources will be needed to see both color reactions. I used a Convoy S2 long wave light and a 6 watt short wave lamp for my images. From Dassu, Braldu Valley, Shigar District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. 3 grams. 1/2" length.
