Description: Two vintage sheets of “Powder Room” Girls cartoons, 1950s: Bathroom Humor. I never thought that women in bathrooms were very funny, but apparently I was wrong. In the 1950s, there was a whole school of cartoonists that captured all the humor associated with women in the bathroom. In this deal, you will be getting two sheets of bathroom humor, with the focus on women. The first one is an even dozen women who mastered the “toilet” in their own way. “Types of Girls in the Powder Room” showcased the “cautious girl,” the “indifferent girl,” the “worried girl,” the “President’s secretary,”the “frivolous girl,” the “cross-eyed girl,” the "bashful girl,” the “acrobatic girl,” the “big time girl,” the “absent minded girl,” the “teenage girl,” and the "Hillbilly girl.” Each one is accompanied by an explanation/caption. There’s no signature of an artist on this 8 x 10 glossy sheet. I get the impression that this might have been magazine art because of the high quality of the paper and the illustrations and type. The other – a 8-1/2 by 11 in cartoon – shows three busty secretaries with a toilet and toilet paper bolted to their desks. The caption reads, “This time I think that Efficiency Expert has gone to darn far!!” No signature on this one either. I’ve never seen anything quite like this. Bawdy yet funny
