You can even hot-swap SD cards when not using the disk! If the SCSI port on your MPC2000 is stuck on “waiting…” then your SCSI fuse is bad and needs to be replaced. It can also be bypassed by powering the device with a microUSB cable. The SD card comes in Akai format - just like a sample CD - and is already set up with partitions that contain library disks, sequences, demos, and standard sets from the MPC60, 3000, 2000, and 2000XL. Perfect if you are into retro and lo-fi sounds. The Zulu can emulate up to 7 Virtual Hard Drives on the MPC up to 900MB each. The limitations of the MPC remain the same, so root directories/partitions are limited to 512 files each. However, you can partition the 900MB drives into 26 A-Z labeled partitions. If you want to transfer files to and from your computer, I recommend using one large 900MB partition for your data since the A partition is the only partition a computer can access. The drives are in Akai ISO format, and can be mounted on a MAC, or use the app PowerISO to mount the drives on Windows.
