Description: It is the only one of its kind. This is not rare or extremely rare. This is the only one. The 80mm/2 was produced by Zeiss 1935/1936. You can find possibly two or three still in existence - none which have been rehoused for Large Format Cinema. It has all the hallmarks of a mid 30s Zeiss Jena, small bubbles in the glass (see picture) - and benefits from a less pronounced swirly bokeh than its 75mm/1.5 sibling. When I gave GL Optics the challenge of rehousing it, everything had to be done from scratch. The lens has an ingenious two in one mount. There is a PL mount inside the LPL. But as it stands - this is an LPL mount to go. Because this was a special order, the lens is a Mark 5, but with a 95mm diameter - but with the incredible, perfectly circular 15 blade iris! Butter smooth bokeh. Minimum focus: 2'6". This was a 3 year project. Why am I selling? One word. Divorce. My loss your gain. The lens has not been used other than tests. Selling at cost. Returns not accepted. This is not an opportunity to do the cheapest rental possible...
