Description: Very rare Austrian Steyr Mannlicher M90 Ersatz bayonet WWI We offer original ersatz bayonet Model 1917, made in Austria for Steyr Mannlicher M90 rifle. During the WWI Bulgaria is fighting together with German and Austro-Hungarian armies. So Bulgaria received quantities of German and Austrian armaments. The ersatz bayonet here is part of such delivery. In 1917 the non-sufficient weapons necessitate make and remake of ersatz bayonets. Few models are know, but only single pieces could be found today. The bayonet here is in absolutely original authentic condition. Full length 31 cm / 12,1 inches. Length of blade (from its sharp end to the barrel hole: 24,4 cm/9,5 inches. Inside Muzzle Ring Diameter measures around 16 mm.The blade is stamped with a well visible mark of the Austrian eagle. Another two markings are well seen - producer's serial number: "8238" and "E.A.IX" . Another number 1901 stands on the opposite side , most probably from Bulgarian army. No special scabbard was produced for these. They used the standard M1895 scabbard. Extremely Rare item in perfect condition despite the years passed. From a private collection!!!
