Description: Offered is a beautiful fan dancer chalkware carnival prize from the 1930's. It may have been designed to portray Sally Rand, best known for her burlesque entertainment at the 1933-34 Chicago World's Fair. Another possibility is actress Mae West. The piece is signed "WM Co.", which could be William Rainwater, however, other pieces I've found by this artist are marked as "WM Rainwater". It could be that they were signed two different ways, but I'm really not sure. She measures 11 1/2" tall and comes with the two feathers pictured. Holes were specifically designed within the piece for this purpose. Aside from a few marks and a small chip on her left foot, this sculpture remains in great condition! Feel free to ask any questions. Please pay within 24 hours.
