Description: Up for bid is an original vintage pre-owned 1940s Marathon Charlie Keller Baseball Glove RHT. Found at an estate sale of a baseball collector of memorabilia. This is an original Spalding Genuine, Leather Fielders Mitt. Middle Palm is branded: with 'Marathon' early Baseball Logo and below it is “Genuine Cowhide.” Towards the pinkie finger is branded with Charlie Keller's signature mark. Glove measures approx. 9" tall & 9.5" wide. The glove is in overall good condition with a worn liner and edge binding. Will defer any cleaning and conditioning to the buyer’s discretion or an easy and satisfying restoration project. Charles Ernest Keller (September 12, 1916 – May 23, 1990) was an American professional baseball player. He played as a left fielder in Major League Baseball from 1939 through 1952 for the New York Yankees (1939–1943, 1945–1949, 1952) and Detroit Tigers (1950–1951). A native of Middletown, Maryland, he batted left-handed and threw right-handed. His ability to hit massive fly balls and home runs earned him the nickname "King Kong".
