Description: For your consideration is this fabulous 1970s maxi dress! It was handmade by a very talented home sewist and is in excellent vintage condition. The front features a raised waistline, front skirt seam, gathered bodice, and keyhole neckline with a high mock neck. The back features a raised waistline and a high neckline with short ties. It zips up with a functional nylon zipper. The material feels like polyester, and it is a heavy knit with a little stretch. The funky fringe trim feels like cotton or a blend. The armholes are taken in slightly with safety pins, but could easily be let out. This dress would likely best fit a modern-day medium or large. The measurements are approximately as follows (laid flat and doubled): Bust: 36" (plus a little extra from the gathering) Waist: 32" Hip: 42" Length (Shoulder to hem): 55.5" The dress has very few issues. There are some light stains on the shoulder and the inside that will likely come out with washing. The number 9 is written on the inside in permanent marker. There are a few loose strings on the sides of the garment where pieces of the trim were joined. Overall, this is a beautiful piece with lots of life left!
