Description: Durkee Famous Foods "CASSIA BUDS" Durkee closed the Elmhurst plant in 1957, moving spice production to Bethlehem, PA, while replacing "Elmhurst, NY, Glidden Products" on the label with "Cleveland, OH Corporate Offices". This is a pre-1957 label. Paper (Light Cardboard) Box 3 1/8" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/8", 2 Oz Net, open, cellophane wrapped, no visible store price. Probably 40's/50's based on when it would have been bought by my grandmother for canning. This guy is in very good shape with no humidity issues. NO metal top or bottom. Disclaimer of production dates for this style box: Best guess would be war years to 1957 as there is no metal in the packaging. Earlier and later packaging had tin tops and bottoms. As much as they were used in household cooking, and nobody was concerned about collecting them :-), most found their way to the trash and burn piles. They weren't sturdy enough for additional usage. This guy is a survivor as it's not empty. $hipping most economically via Ground Advantage where "my cost" is "your cost", same / next day, and eBay will combine w/ other listings of mine.
