Description: The Thomas Rod Company has some of the richest roots in rodmaking. FE Thomas, its founder and namesake, had been an early employee at the Leonard shop around the turn of the century. After a brief, though historic, association with Eustis Edwards and Ed Payne, Thomas opened up his own shop in Bangor, Maine where it would prosper until 1958 when it was sold to Sam Carlson. This is a beautiful c1939 Thomas Special, 9.5' Dry Fly Salmon rod with removable fighting butt. It has 3 peices with 2 tips, all full length. The butt and mid show typical signs of being stored in the original bag and aluminum tube. Rod guide and wraps are all original. Rod is in wonderful condition for it's age. See photos. Comes with bag and aluminum tube. 11117850ebay backroom
