Description: Vintage Franciscan Apple Earthenware "Oatmeal" Cereal/Soup Bowl, 1953-58. Description: Offering a vintage Franciscan Apple pattern “cereal bowl”. Also perfect for soups, desserts, cereals and side dishes. It was made by Gladding McBean and Company, California, USA. This pattern was first produced in 1940. Hand Decorated. The deep red and green paint is still vivid and the gloss is bright. Maker’s Mark: “FRANCISCAN WARE” in a circle, with “Hand Decorated” in the middle | “Made in California U.S.A.” and “Gladding McBean & Co”. This mark was used from 1953 to 1958. Dimensions: 5 ½” wide/diameter, 2 ¼” high Condition: VERY GOOD: Shows minor signs of wear and use commensurate with age but still very attractive. NO chips, cracks, scratches, crazing or staining.
