Description: An old desktop computer from 20 years ago. I opened it up and really gave it a thorough cleaning everywhere. I upgraded some of its parts, so it is usable now, although its specs are still less than a modern system. It boots into Windows 10 in about 40 seconds. Sometimes you will have to wait a few seconds for apps to open, but it works just fine. The system comes with Windows 10 Home 32-Bit preinstalled (HOWEVER, I could not get it activated using the Windows XP code on the label - the license remains inactivated). I've replaced its RAM so it has its max for this motherboard, 3.5GB. I also re-applied thermal paste to the heatsink in the system, and added a SSD. The chassis has some minor scuffs and smudges, but that's just a fact of being used. I tried to clean it up as much as I could. Both metal and plastic parts of the case are in good condition overall - there are no missing parts. DEFECTSLet's cover the ugly parts first: the defects. 🆘 One of the front I/O USB Ports does not work.*️⃣ Booting from USB doesn't seem to work. This isn't a defect so much as a idiosyncrasy of the system. *️⃣ The computer cannot use 4GB of RAM, only 3.5GB of RAM. This isn't a defect so much as a idiosyncrasy of the system.*️⃣ The blue LED for the power button does not turn off, even if the computer is off. Again, this isn't a defect, so much as a idiosyncrasy of the system. These are the only problems I have experienced with this computer; everything else is in good working order. POWER SUPPLYHIPRO Model# HP-P3087F3 (305W Max.)This is the original power supply unit, and it includes its power cord to the wall. MOTHERBOARDIntel LGA775 | Model# D915GAG / D915PSY / E210882This is a replacement motherboard, that has the same model as the original. It can house up to 3.5 GB of memory in its 4 RAM slots, although its manual states it can do 4.0 GB. I've tried 4.0 GB on multiple gateways of this model; they do not post with max memory. PROCESSORIntel Pentium 4 | 3.0GHz | 2MB Cache | Model # 630-SL7Z9-5503B894This upgraded processor has a higher frequency than the original (by 200MHz), although it still only has a single core. MEMORY(×3) Kingston | 1GB | DDR1 | 400MHz (Model # KVR400X64C3A/1G) (×1) Kingston | 512MB | DDR1 | 400MHz (Model # KVR400X64C3A/512) Upgraded memory for maximum performance out of this vintage system. OTHEROptical DrivePCIe Wired Network CardWindows 10 32-bit Home (NOT ACTIVATED)A/C PSU Power CordWired Gateway Keyboard+Replaced CMOS Battery+Replaced Thermal PasteThe system comes with the original keyboard that came with the computer. You will need a mouse, monitor, and video cable. THE OPERATING SYSTEMThough the case comes with a product code, I couldn't get it working with Windows 10. Maybe its because it was a Windows XP code only, or maybe you will need to connect it to the internet first. You have several options to activate Windows 10:Use the code on the side of the computer (may need to call microsoft)Buy a new code from microsoftLeave the computer deactivated (legal, but won't get pro features like color themes)Use a legal KMS server to activate the computerSince Windows 10 is nearing its end-of-life in ~2 years, I highly recommend considering Ubuntu (Linux) or Linux Mint for this device in the future. It is free to upgrade any system to either. I also looked into ChromeOS Flex, another free option from Google, but I don't think this computer is compatible. SHIPPING Ships with UPS, FedEx, or USPS (whichever is cheapest). No instapaks are installed for shipping, but the system will be well-wrapped in packing paper. I can give you a discount if you choose the local pick up option. WHATS NOT INCLUDEDTo use this PC, you will require a display cable (DVI or HDMI), a monitor, and a mouse. Everything else (power cord, etc) is included with the purchase.
