Description: Full disclosure: I have no particular expertise in this type of artwork. I gathered all my information about this item from previous eBay sales and Google searches. This was a gift to me over 40 years ago from an elderly family friend who traveled extensively. I know that he traveled to South Asia, and perhaps to the Pacific. This bust appears to be a carving of a female Janger dancer, a form of Balinese perfoemance art involving music and dance. It is very finely carved. There are no identifying marks that I can see. There is a little dust in the nooks and crannies. There is a split in the back. I suspect that this was carved with green wood and it split after drying, as the split looks very old. There are a few few fine scratches on the very top edge, seen only from the back (see photo). It is about 11" tall and 7" wide (see photos).
