The foundry used these molds in a sand casting process to produce the items in cast iron. The molds were made by specially skilled craftsmen, whose precision woodworking, made perfect replicas of the cast iron piece that their customers requested. This foundry mold is a natural wood, that was used as a releasing agent for the casting process. This cool old foundry mold measures 3.5" length and is 1.75" deep and 12" height.
