Description: Guys, We have a real beauty here. This is a 1955 Kay 6-string K15 40 inch full sized guitar that was custom converted to a 4-string by its owner back in the 60’s. An authentic Kay neck with its original tuners were used for the conversion. The tuners are smooth and the headstock and emblem are in good shape. The fretboard is also in great shape with minimal wear. This instrument was passed down through 3 generations and unfortunately got little play, as the subsequent generations did not learn to play. It came to me with brace issues and cracks on the front and back. Those issues were all addressed and repaired. I’m quite happy with the work. The back was refinished and sealed with lacquer. The cracks are not even visible. The crack on the front is at the seam between the two panels but is secure. This guitar has all the dings, scrapes and chips that are consistent with an instrument of this age. See pics and video for cosmetic condition. You are about to be the proud owner of a piece of 70 year old history which deserves to be honored and continued. The measurement from nut to saddle is 23 inches, from end to end it’s 40 inches and the width of the nut is 1.25 inches. I’ve included an iCloud link below on which you can see and hear this beautiful instrument up close. The guitar and case will be bubble wrapped with care and shipped in a guitar shipping box.
