Description: Pipe, 'K & P Petersons' About this object This pipe has a bronze coloured collar, marked K & P Peterson with the 3 Peterson marks: a shamrock, a wolf hound and a stone tower. Fredrich and Heinrich Kapp opened their small tobacco shop in Dublin in 1865. Charles Peterson walked into their shop with his new pipe invention and in 1875 they became partners. The company was known as Kapp and Peterson and later Peterson of Dublin. In 1894 a patent was issued to Peterson for his unique construction of a pipe and mouthpiece, described as a “certain new and useful Improvement in Tobacco-Pipes”. This has come to be known as the Peterson 'System' pipe.
