The family arrived from Germany in the 1840s and eventually settled in Sauk City, WI. Matthias taught his sons the art of brewing, and it was his third son, Jacob, who moved north to Chippewa Falls. In 1867 he began brewing, and for almost 150 years the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co. has been thriving! 🍻
